The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia kicked off its 2018 season with a bang at Shanghai International Circuit over the weekend, with Team StarChase’s Philip Hamprecht taking home the Overall win in Round 1 win after expertly defending his pole position and Modena Motorsports’ Wayne Shen grabbing the first place honours with a tough fight in Pro-Am class.

Zheng Tong Auto joined the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in 201, with Chinese driver Bao Jin Long charging into the series to represent the team in a strong debut season where he ranked sixth overall. The following three seasons have seen consecutive returns from the dealer team who continues to be a strong force in the series year after year.
Evan Chen was a quiet storm that took the series by force this year, rising to every challenge and capitalising on every centimetre of opportunity that came his way – straight through to the decisive moments of the final race when he closed the season out in first place in the Pro-Am Class.
