Shanghai. The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will make a triumphant return to the Macau Grand Prix from November 9th to 10th as part of the celebrations to mark the 60th running of the famous event, and as the illustrious German automotive brand marks 50 years of the iconic Porsche 911.

PICC Team StarChase talent and newly crowned Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champion Alexandre Imperatori finished his season in spectacular style by taking a resounding victory in the final round. The Shanghai-based Swiss driver crossed the line after the 12-lap Round 11 with a margin of 6.5 seconds from second-place finisher Keita Sawa of LKM Racing Team. Third over the line in the action-packed and Safety Car-interrupted race was Chinese driver Zhang Da Sheng of Team Basetex, who drove a superb race to take his second podium of the season.
Shanghai. Austrian Martin Ragginger gave his Team Eagle – Jiejun & Junbaojie plenty to cheer about after he took victory in the penultimate round of the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season today. Notching up his second win of the season, Ragginger crossed the line 1.595 seconds ahead of pole-sitter Rodolfo Avila of Team Jebsen. Third across the line after the 12-lap thriller was Budweiser Team StarChase talent Tung Ho-Pin of China taking his third podium on his debut sportscar season.
Shanghai. Alexandre Imperatori won the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Championship today at the aptly-named Sports Car Champions Festival. With six victories in nine races, the 25-year-old PICC Team StarChase ace clinched the title after rival and defending champion LKM Racing Team’s Keita Sawa failed to take pole position for the penultimate race of the season. Even if Sawa takes maximum points in Rounds 10 and 11, he can only hope to draw level in the points, and Imperatori would ace him by virtue of race wins.
Shanghai. The grand finale of the tenth Porsche Carrera Cup season will have added star power with the announcement that Le Mans 24 Hours winner David Brabham will be amongst the 28-car grid as the championship battle goes down to the wire at the inaugural Shanghai Sportscar Champions Festival.
Singapore. New Zealand’s Craig Baird took victory today in the 12-lap Porsche SC Global Carrera Cup Asia – Singapore 2012 on the Marina Bay street circuit. Second across the line, taking full championship points for the win, was Martin Ragginger of Team Eagle – Jiejun & Junbaojie, while championship leader Alexandre Imperatori of PICC Team StarChase was third.
